Dolce Digest August 2019
Do You Burn Hot Or Keep Your Cool?
With the heat of summer comes an endless barrage of exciting ideas. It’s like our collective childhood memories of associating summer with freedom come rolling back, and the days are almost automatically filled with laughter and ease.
Keeping cool is a bit trickier— it takes being aware that the hot days of summer are helping you cook up big plans, while also having the foresight to calmly plan for the months to come. August days start out pleasantly warm and quickly transform into hot days with feverish energy where we try to squeeze in all the little events. At the end of the day, the cool settles in with a sense of accomplishment.
With that, I ask you: do you burn hot or keep your cool as you go about your day?
There is something to be said for living life in the moment, and for— no pun intended— having our day in the sun. However, there is another perspective of using the heat to cooly assemble plans for growth.
Wouldn’t you agree that August is similar? The heat is omnipresent but at the end of summer, there is a cumulative effect of having worked (and played!) so hard that there is a wealth of memories and joy which keep us warm, even as we cool off.
As the days burn hotter, I hope you simmer with plans. And as the nights cool off, I hope you collect memories and accomplishments that will last a lifetime.
